Mid-office Specialist

The Candidate
We have a great job opening for an enthusiastic and committed administrative expert who is used to working in a commercial trading environment. You have affinity with commodities and you love to ensure a perfect operational process. You have a sharp eye for detail, but you are also able to keep oversight. The ideal candidate should be confident, but open to direct feedback and preferably have a comprehensive understanding of environmental commodities (carbon, (bio)fuels, (renewable) power or gas markets).
The Role
The Mid-office Specialist is responsible for almost all aspects of trade business support. From client onboarding, transaction processing and drawing up contracts to trade invoicing, trade settlement and stock management. You keep track of all transactions and you are in control of the whole operational process. You (pro)actively contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art mid-office IT system. While the company is growing, you will have the opportunity to expand the mid-office team accordingly.
 
Main tasks:
  • Deal confirmation
  • Drawing up contracts
  • Trade invoicing
  • Trade debtor management
  • Payments & deliveries
  • Ensure completeness and correctness of the trading administration
  • Counterparty onboarding (incl. KYC/AML/CTF) and onboarding with our counterparties
  • Trade inventory management
  • Process improvement
  • System development and improvement
The Requirements
In order to be considered for the role you will meet the following:
 
  • 2-5 years’ mid-office experience in a trading environment 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, economics or equivalent
  • Confident and motivated self-starter with a serving attitude
  • Accurate, precise with excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Advanced excel skills is considered a plus
  • Living and working in/around Houston, Texas
